International Contributor

An LSST International Contributor is a classification for an institution or consortia that agrees to share in the annual operating costs of the LSST in exchange for data rights for a specified list of their principal investigators during LSST operations and commissioning.

The terms and conditions for each International Contributor will be specified in an individually negotiated Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) between LSSTC and the Contributor organization. It will be followed by an implementation agreement that covers the specific arrangements with each contributor. A template for the current version of the MOA may be downloaded here. To begin the MOA process, please inquire at lsstc@lsst DOT org. Items that must be covered in the MOA and implementation agreement include:

• Name of the organization that will sign the MOA
• Name and title of the person who will sign on behalf of the institution
• Names of contributor's Principal Investigators (PIs) and their scientific interests
• Desired type of engagement during the survey (e.g., access to catalog data only, creation of location data access center, etc.)
• Date of first payment toward operations and payment schedule (not later than October 1, 2019 for initial payment with additional payments not later than October 1 in nine subsequent years for a total of 10 payments)
• Schedule for signing MOA/Implementation agreement
