Our Founding Corporate Philanthropic Partner

LSST Corporation is excited to welcome Wasabi Technologies as our first Corporate Philanthropic Partner (CPP)!  Their investment both supported both LSSTC operations and a special enabling science grant of $25,000 for Amanda Wasserman at University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign.  Amanda is using that grant to develop methods for studying explosive phenomena in the Universe with the upcoming Legacy Survey of Space and Time.

LSSTC's Founding Philanthropic Partner, Wasabi Technologies, is on a mission to store all the world’s data by making data storage simple, affordable, fast and secure. Wasabi provides simple, predictable and affordable hot cloud storage for businesses all over the world. It enables organizations to store and instantly access an unlimited amount of data at 1/5th the price of the competition with no complex tiers or unpredictable egress fees. Trusted by tens of thousands of customers worldwide, Wasabi has been recognized as one of technology’s fastest-growing and most visionary companies.

Most cloud storage providers offer a low-cost of entry but then complicate things with multiple storage tiers (and escalating price points), plus extra fees for egress and other data transfers and transactions.

Wasabi is different. We believe cloud storage should be viewed as a utility with a flat, low pricing model that you can budget with the other services used to run your research. Its storage made simple. So you can focus your time and budget on research, not on managing storage infrastructure.
