Our Mission

Secure the resources needed to realize the full scientific potential of Rubin Observatory’s Legacy Survey of Space and Time, and to develop and implement innovative programs that position a diverse community of researchers to make cutting-edge scientific discoveries.


LSSTC’s work is guided by our core values:

  • Inclusion - We create environments and programs that foster participation of individuals from diverse backgrounds and institutions, with specific attention to including underrepresented and marginalized groups.

  • Community - We grow and diversify the Rubin LSST research community through networks and partnerships.

This Corporation is organized exclusively for charitable, educational, and scientific purposes, including for such purposes, distributing to organizations that qualify as exempt organizations under § 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, or corresponding section of any future federal tax code.
