August 2019; location TBD
Core science cases of the Large Synoptic Survey Telescope (LSST) would greatly benefit from overlapping observations with NASA's recently developed Superpressure Balloon (SPB) capability. SPB-based imagers can provide near-space quality and enormous imaging speed in the blue/UV, which can calibrate critical LSST measurements (e.g., galaxy shapes and photometry). Our workshop will explore possible synergies between LSST science and planned, future SPB missions.
