The Legacy Survey of Space and Time (LSST) will revolutionize humankind's understanding of the Universe. LSST will revolutionize the way astrophysics is done. As we approach the end of 2022, we are only two years away from the first science data from this unprecedented map of the Universe.
THE TIME IS NOW to engage undergraduates in LSST science.
Your tax-deductible donation to the LSSTC Student Program will help launch an otherwise unsupported student to success. Donations will support student attendance at the annual Rubin Observatory LSST Project and Community Workshop. At this meeting, students have the unique opportunity to interact with Rubin Observatory LSST scientists and engineers, attend student-oriented breakouts, tour the University of Arizona Caris mirror lab, participate in the opening plenary and present their LSST-related summer research at a dedicated poster session.
Today's LSST undergraduates are TOMORROW'S LEADERS.
Donations will also be directed towards summer research fellowships for undergraduates. Summer research fellowships include both compensation for their summer research projects and partial travel support to present that work at the LSST Summer meeting.
Please reach out to Beth Willman (bwillman@lsstc.org) to learn more about donation opportunities related to students, or more broadly about opportunities to support scientific community's engagement with LSST..
Join Charles Simonyi and Bill Gates in their support of Rubin Observatory LSST. Simonyi and Gates have already donated $20M and $10M respectively to support fabrication of the primary optics as described in this 2008 press release. Now you can add your dollars to theirs and support the amazing science and outreach to come from the extraordinary facility.
Supporting the LSST Corporation (LSSTC) is an investment in enabling the full science exploitation of the unique Survey data set. Your contribution provides funds for workshops, internships, and support of Science Collaborations. LSSTC is a 501C(3) non-profit corporation and all donations are tax deductible to the full extent of the law. For more information please contact:
